What is Roman Noir?

The Forum and the fat man. Femme fatales and gladiators. A detective and a few (usually very few) denarii.

Some things never change.

Roman Noir is a pun on roman noir—what the French call the hard-boiled tales whose gunshots echoed loudly enough to inspire a genre. The Roman Noir you'll find in these pages links their world to that of two thousand years ago.
